Ali H. Al Aboodi received the B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from Dept. of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Basrah, Basrah, Iraq in 2000. He received the M.Sc. degree in “Water Resources Engineering” from University of Basrah, in 2003. Also, He received the Ph.D. degree in “Water Resources Engineering” from University of Basrah, in 2012. He is working as professor in the Dept. of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Basrah, Basrah, Iraq. His research interest includes; groundwater and river flow modeling, by ANN, ANFIS and Fuzzy Logic Control and optimal management by genetic algorithm.

Dina Ali Yaseen received the B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from Dept. of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Basrah, Basrah, Iraq in 2002. She received the M.Sc. degree in “Water Resources Engineering” from University of Basrah, in 2009. Also, She received the Ph.D. degree in “Sanitary Engineering” from The School of Computing, Sciences, and Engineering, Salford University, UK in 2018. She is working as Assistant professor in the Dept. of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Basrah, Basrah, Iraq. Her research interest includes; Water treatment, Westwater treatment, Water quality, Wetland, rainwater harvesting.

Prof. Miklas Scholz is an internationally recognized researcher in water, wastewater treatment, constructed wetlands, sustainable drainage systems, and nature-based solutions. He has published four books and more than 300 journal articles, with approximately 10,700 citations, an h-index of 51, and an i10-index of 195. A bibliometric analysis places him among the top five globally cited authors in constructed-wetland research.
He has led major international research projects, including the €7 million EU H2020 WATERAGRI project and the €1.52 million JPI Water RAINSOLUTIONS project. His research has contributed significantly to the development of international and national guidelines for integrated constructed wetlands (ICWs), sustainable flood retention basins (SFRBs), and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).
Prof. Scholz has particularly contributed to the design and implementation of ICW guidelines in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and England, including applications for agricultural runoff. His work has also supported the international adoption of ICWs and hybrid SuDS in Europe, the USA, and China.
A major focus of his research is the sustainable management and reuse of water resources, particularly wastewater treatment and recycling as strategies to address increasing water scarcity, irrigation demand, and environmental challenges.

Prof. Dr. Ammar Salman Dawood is a professor specializing in Civil Engineering – Environmental Engineering, working as a faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, University of Basrah. He received his PhD from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in 2013 and has over twenty years of academic and research experience in university teaching and graduate supervision. He has published approximately 88 peer-reviewed papers in local and international journals and conferences indexed in Scopus and Web of Science databases. He currently serves as Director of the Quality Assurance Division at the University of Basrah since 2019, actively contributing to the development of educational and research processes at the university.
